  RESIDENTIAL LIVING
  Learning Communities
ResLiving offers four unique learning communities, providing an opportunity to live in a community focused on
shared values.
• First-GenerationCommunity: This community provides First Generation students (neither parent or legal guardian has completed
a bachelor’s degree) the opportunity to live and learn together. They will be mentored by a Washburn first-generation faculty/staff member.
• LeadershipCommunity:
This community will explore leadership development and concepts both in and outside of the classroom. Students will enroll in a shared course and will have the opportunity to attend various co-curricular events throughout the academic year.
• ExploratoryCommunity:This community is geared toward students who have yet to decide on a particular major or career path. In this community, students will explore personal interests, values and skills to help guide them in developing an academic and career plan.
• GlobalCitizenship&Diversity Community: This community will focus on building relationships across cultures through shared experiences and the exploration of diverse cultural perspectives.
Washburn has five housing facilities on campus, each with
varying room layouts and options. Our website includes details about how to apply for housing, as well as information about features and amenities, room and board costs and move-in details.
Lincoln Hall
Lincoln Hall is our newest residence hall that opened in the Fall of 2016. Lincoln houses 350 students in two-, four- and six-person, single-gender suites. Depending on the configuration of each suite, there will be one or two bathrooms and sinks. Each suite also features a living area with seating for residents and guests.
Living Learning Center
The Living Learning Center (LLC) is a stimulating, vibrant center for student life on Washburn’s campus. Housing 400 students, this hall is connected to the Memorial Union through a walkway on the second floor. The majority of suites are designed as four-person suites with two students sharing a bedroom.
Kuehne & West Halls
Both of these halls are co-ed and feature single-gender, eight-person suites. Each suite consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large living room. Private outside entrances open onto outside walkways, and each suite has either a patio or a balcony.
Washburn Village Apartments
Washburn Village is the on-campus housing option for full-time students who are beyond their freshman year of college and have a minimum of 24 post-high school credit hours. The apartments house 192 students, in fully furnished, apartment-style housing, with many of the same services available to those living in the residence halls. There are four different apartment layouts to choose from.
